Colleen rock , staff writer. Many movie adaptions of books have some things that the director leaves out, in order for the movie to flow better, and for the plot to be easier to understand. The maze runner isn’t an exception.

It did a great job of moving through the plot quickly and answering questions at a good pace. I thought the grievers were much scarier in the movie. James dashner`s the maze runner is an incredible read, but the movie adaptation did not level up to the novel.

Unlike many book adaptations, the maze runner, while constantly nodding at its source material, is very different from the book it is based on. The maze runner is a series consisting of 5 books and 3 of which are now movies. The protagonist thomas wakes up to find himself in a box.

This book is about a group of boys who live in a place called the glade surrounded by a maze, working together to conquer escaping maze and when the first girl ever to arrive (teresa), seems to somehow know the main character, thomas. I prefer the book better than the movie because in. The movie must satisfy the reader’s image of the setting, or at least display it in a way that accurately depicts how it is described in the book.
The maze runner by james dashner was published in 2009, and made into a film in 2014. It follows a group of teens that are trapped in a maze and have to figure out a way to escape. Lastly, in the book, the entryways leading into the maze were unlike the movie.
Although there were differences between reading “the maze runner” and watching the film, the overall story was awesome! This breaks continuity, however, as no one has ever seen a griever and lived, and no one has ever come back from spending a night in the maze. These creatures are huge, there is no way one stings you, and you don’t see the beast.
